Today I took my last French final (and I only have one more final, tomorrow morning, for history). So Dr Sol gave me my papers and showed me my cumulative grade - a low A, but an A nonetheless. But I said, "But you have to take off points for my absences, right?" And she was like, "Oh- Ehhhhhhh, there's worse than you."

YEAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I might make all As this semester... except for my Yoga class which I quit without actually dropping... still, all As in classes that matter if I pull off this history final! I'm gonna graduate in December! I am gonna move to France!

I think I have "School Affective Disorder." Whenever I am in school, I am sad, but come vacation I am feeling fine, outlook: sunny and positive.

Now to go read up on some Early Modern Europe.

AND. IT Crowd Series 4 is in post-production, fuckin' yeah

This song! I posted it on my fb last week. It is still in the Videocracy top 20, and it is STILL stuck in my head.

Gotta get caught up on all the 30daycc entries that are flooding my friends page, and all your actual entries.

IRON MAN 2 UNNNNNNNNN CAN'T WAIT, gonna go see it this weekend whatever happens with Troy, I made this date with RDJ when Iron Man hit theaters in 2008.

Comment to this entry and I will give you a color. List ten things that you <3 that are your color.

I got beige! It is kind of hard to come up with 10 beige things that I personally love, probably because I am not thinking hard enough. Uhhhhhh, we're playing fast and loose with "beige" here.

1. café au lait
2. my chihuahuas Benny & Joon
3. camel-hair coats
4. sand
5. hummous
6. peanut butter
7. my skin
8. this beige penguin
9. coffee ice cream
10.

BPAL
Since atelierlune alerted me (indirectly, through her LJ) to BPAL, I have spent long days perusing the website, wondering what my "scent" should be, wondering if I should order a set of imp's ears or just go for broke on a bottle, but never going for it, because I am not generally a perfume person.

BUT! Oh my gosh, my friend ordered me a set of imp's ears for my birthday, and I have been trying them out for a week or so now, with mostly great results. I always thought I didn't really like florals in general and rose in particular, but half of my set is rose scents and actually, they're alright, although my favorite is a citrus.

Here's a brief review of the eight scents in my samplerCollapse )

I can't decide if I want to order a bottle of one or two of my favorites or try another round of samples. I am itching to try, for example, Cheshire Cat, The Coil, or the Limited Edition Little Bird.

Man, if you don't want the "characters" in your fanfiction to read said fanfiction, maybe you should get out of the RPF fandom, okay, guys? Because, um, it's right there that they are REAL PEOPLE and the internet is TOTALLY PUBLIC and the channels between celebrities and fans are WIDE OPEN like never before. So maybe you should find another fandom because people will find out about it whether you like it or not, or maybe come to peace with the fact that what you're doing is slightly creepy, okay, and . I'm not judging what you do, just how you think about it.

I am thinking of starting the 100 Theme Challenge. I don't know for sure if I'd put them here or on my long-abandoned writing LJ, and I don't think anyone would read them, but I feel like I used to write reasonably well, and I'd like to get that skill back, if only for myself.

If there is one website I check with as much alarming frequency as my facebook, it is for sure the A.V. Club. It once existed as a print pop culture appendix to The Onion, but it is now its own beast and my main source of pop culture news, music flim and book reviews, taste tests, stupid internet videos, and Savage Love. I used to be a semi-active commenter there but I am not smart enough or clever enough to keep up so now I mostly keep to myself.

Honorable Mention: Cracked - I don't check Cracked regularly, but when I do it is very easy for me to spend upwards of 2 hours just reading through all the new lists that have gone up since I last looked. Also, their Oscar bait clip was pretty funny, although am I understand that the idea was lifted from another comedy group? Well, as they say, "Immature artists imitate; mature artists steal."

I was going to post my traditional holiday cookie, which is a recipe I got from from stringy_cow back when we used to be acquaintances. It is a deelishus pumpkin cookie, but the recipe is on my laptop, and I don't feel like typing it up. Instead, here is the recipe for the buttermilk pie that I made this year at Thanksgiving. Buttermilk pie is the bomb.com you guys, it is seriously so good if you love sweet, creamy things (like me).

Buttermilk Pie III

I picked this one because the submitter said she had the recipe from a 94-year-old lady in Arkansas, and that sounded legit as hell. Make sure you read all the comments though, I think I wound up having to add a little extra flour to this.
